How long should I wait before seeking medical attention for a migraine?

I have Mirgraines several times throughout the month. I always try figuring out what my body needs before taking any medications. I also get migraines from certain kinds of foods and smells. My migraine started yesterday and has continued through today. I have tried different kinds of foods, liquids, taken Advil and slept throughout the night. I still have this Migrane which has seemed to move from one side of my head to the other side. I am not on any kind of Migraine medication due to some of the reactions I have had to them. BUT I still wonder how long should I wait before seeking medical attention? I have tried everything I normally do that usually aliviates this problem with in a few hours or at least by the time I wake in the morning.

Ouch, your body is definately telling you their is something upset in your body- you should try and find out what the problem is and it may help with preventing them from coming back again. Though for now- you have wrote this which is good. When you cant stair at a computer screen and it disables you from doing anything- I would seek medical advise, so they can give you medication to help with the miagraine.

See your MD as soon as possible. Migraines can be painful and affect your daily life. You have a good description of your symptoms and trigger foods, smells, etc. Don't delay as you intuitively know you are not feeling better. Your MD can try different medications as there are many choices out there.
Feel better soon (some triggers are caffeine, chocolate, nuts...among others). A former "RN".
