I get migraines everyday help??

seems like everyday around 5 i start hurting and it gets worse as the night goes on by the time for bed im sick -it hurts on my left side my EYE kills me were i wanna cut it out sometimes it gets so bad my jaw hurts my neck and my face i dont know what to do i have taken every kind of over the counter drugs no luck i have two lil ones so !!!

p,s one thing that helps some is to push on my eye

These were my symptoms **exactly**. For ten years!!! And I had sinus surgery which was a false diagnosis. I tried acupuncture, over the counter pain medications, mediation to just deal with the pain and live with it - the works. See a doctor. Get a diagnosis and a referral to a neurologist. I'm now on topamax and it's brilliant - for the first time in my entire adult life I don't have a left-sided headache like a lightglobe being pressed into my eye every afternoon and most early mornings. It's not normal and the treatment is worth every single cent.

For the record, he said that most migraines are *not* caused by diet - 97% are stress, 2% hormonal (i.e. the pill - probably not if you've had kids!) and maybe 1% food related, so you don't need to go off eliminating gluten from your diet before consulting a specialist.

He also said that he couldn't count the number of people who came to him having already had sinus surgery - one side only is typical of migraines, and evening headaches of cluster migraines in particular.

Well, it sounds like you might also be experiencing some sinus problems. Because you feel pressure it seems and pushing down on your eyes relieves the pain. But if anything, I would go see a doctor. They usually do some scans just to make sure that the headaches aren't being produced by something more serious. And if you don't want to go or something, buy some Excedrin for Migraines. Check out the websites below to help you out.

If you're sure it's migraine...here's what to do:
1) Always wear sunglasses whenever you're going out
2) Stay out of glaring lights
3) Keep your place cool/ cold and dimly lighted
4) If you think you're going to have migraine, wash your head with cold water, pat a little to dry, face your head/face (whichever is more comfortable with you) to electric fan (to retain the cold effect).
Lie down, cover your eyes with wet towelette. Massage your forehead down to your temple (this one is very effective to me) then head to the back of your ears & finish it down to your nape. Do it several times til you get relieve.

It may take several weeks or months before you will finally get over with your migraine.

I would advice you to consult your doctor first for thorough check up.
Good luck.

Are you sure this is not sinus or allergy related? And if not I would go to the doctor and make sure you don't have something serious going on. But it sounds more allergy related, people who never had allergies in their life are now getting them, I am one of those people, they can occur at any age even if you never had them before. Try advil cold and sinus and if this helps you, then you know it is sinus related.

I too have daily migraines and have found some relief from the doctor prescribing Elavil to be taken at night.

If I do have a migraine, though, I was prescribed Stadol Nasal Spray that works as well as going to the ER for a shot of pain medicine. Check with you doc. and see if these two meds could be prescribed.

I strongly recommend you find a good acupuncturist & Chinese herbalist. You should have signficant results within 1-3 treatments. Check the site www.acufinder.com to find an acupuncturist in your area. When you call or email them, make sure they have experience relieving migraines. Good luck!

I got migraines for years then came off the pill and they went.
