How do i stop getting migraines?

for the past 3 years iv been getting these really bad migraines, how can i get them to go away?
please help!!

i get headaches everyday, and i immediately take 3 motrin and it suposedly stops the symptoms before the migraine and the headaches and migraine itself. but im always tired and go to sleep almost everyday, and i never want to do anything. and it takes about 2 hours every night to fall asleep because i take naps everyday. this is very stressful.
6th grade- had my first 1. only 1 that year i think.
7th grade- 3-5 migraines.
8th grade-present- had around 7-10 this year. and i would have had many more if it werent for the motrin but i still get the symptoms its like my eyes dont like brightness ANYTIME and like my vision is kinda flashy, not right. its kinda hard to explain. but im going to the neurologist. one day i got 1 it was soo bad i had to go to urgent care and i eventually threw up in their trash can. i got a shot of emmitrex, and went home.

i hope these go away. i hope i dont die at boy scout camp the whole week.

There are lots of different reasons you could be getting migraines. If you're prone to getting them, some types of foods can trigger them, and should be avoided. I would see a doctor about it if it just came on in the past 3 years. It could be a sign of some other problem, or the doc could prescribe something for you to help.
I also suffer from migraines, so I literally feel your pain and hope for the best for you :)

I suggest eliminating certain things from your diet such as Chocolate,Oranges,Coffee,Coke, and anything else similar to these as caffine and food and beverages with acid in them can be a major cause of Migraine's. I suffer them also and i do know however if you see your local doctor that there is a tablet they can prescribe you with for Migraine's in particular so maybe give that a try.
Good Luck...

i get really bad migraines and i've found that after cutting out all caffine (coffee, chcolate :(, cola etc) that they are sooo much better ive only had 1 in three months and i used to get about 1 a week!
hope this helps xx

my mom had migraines since she was 20 and she still gets them time to time.. but she takes this really good medicine..its called Imitrex or something like that. It really expensive around 90$ a pack of 4. but it helps her alot! if you have really bad ones for years then def give it a try. it works 100%

I used to have the same, turned out i needed glasses, try to get your eyes checked if you dont have any glasses, might be the problem..
