How can i relieve a migraine headache? |
ive had them on and off over my lifetime, much more often since pregnancy. they have advanced to numbness/ tingle feeling in the back of my head, vision changes, tiredness, and tingling in my fingers, poor balance and judgment, comprehension of words seem to be getting harder, sounds, light and strong smells hurts my head, cant stand up or sit for longer than 20 minutes! ..... i also have back problems, but chiropractic care isnt doing much better for me. any advice on how to ease the pain? what tests should a doctor preform to help identify the problem? pl see what suits you. There is a class of drugs called triptan drugs that will stop the process of a migraine. Theses include Frova, Imitrex, and Axert. They are over the counter at around $15 USD in Germany & England, but with a prescription I pay the same price in the US. You have to see a doctor to get them in the US. Also they can run an MRI to make sure you don't have any myelin damage from them. I have had tremendous help, as have my parents and siblings with chiropractic care. It takes a while (several months with multiple visits per week in my case) and sometimes trying different chiropractors with varying techniques (as in my sister's case). I am most vulnerable when under stress so I have learned how to manage that better, too. My mom and I both have suffered from migrain headaches are whole life.....my mom has also had 5 boys....she went to the docter to see if theres anything you can do and there is nothing except to take medicine i would prefer a medicine called excedra migrain it helps alot......and sleeping also releaves you a little bit from the pain.....but there is nothing you can do to stop them. |
