Question for medical proffesionals, was it hemiplegic migraine or TIA?? should i go to G.P.!?

On last Monday morning i couldnt move right side of body, speech went as well as unable to open eyes!!.managed to phone emergency services after an hour of sitting there they were great and were taking no chances so i was taken to A&E there only basic strength tests done etc sent home after 4 hours nothing else said! blamed it on migraines as i had said have previously had hemiplegic migraine for last two years only!! since last monday throat very dry, hurts when i swallow any food that are bigger than a one penny!! so not eating as many meals (that hurts as i love my food) just one a day very small meal.and still have a painful headache one sided /some dizziness when standing or walking too long pain on left side and weakness was on right side completely& when eating /swallowing its uncomfatable & sometimes coughing. numbness/weakness lasted longer than the hour so before everything else returned within 2/3 hours hand movement came back on thursday(properly) should i go see GP or WHO!

P.S 34 YEAR OLD FEMALE IF THAT HELPS!

I would certainly recommend that you see a doctor. The symptoms you are describing are consistent with a TIA. Did they do an MRI? Do you smoke and/or take oral contraceptives? That is really unacceptable that they sent you home without doing any scans. Criminal really! Go back and see a different doctor.

Rachel you need to ring NHS Direct and explain what has happened and what your symptoms are...they will point you in the right direction...have used them a few times myself. Ring the number at the top of the page...they are available 24 hrs...

Good Luck!

You would not have been let out of our ER without a CAT scan with those symptoms. See your GP and he/she can decide if further treatment is merited ie CAT scan, neurologist consult.
