Easy, effective home remedies for migraine???

I've suffered from migraine for years, i have prescription tablets to take when i get them (paramax) but i really think prevention is better than cure! Any migraine sufferers please help..... migraine is helllllllll >:(

Sometimes migraine is caused because you tend to grind your teeth?
There is an acupuncture point at the mandibles (the hinge part that connects the top jaw to the lower jaw).
If you place your forefingers on the side of the face, where the base of the lower molars are, then move your jaw up and down you will feel the hinge move, the point will be very tender massage these 2 points until the tenderness goes.
If it is not tender or the migraine does not go then you have not got the right points.
Sometimes you get a warning that you are going to get a migraine, the earlier you do the massage, the quicker it will go

It sure is hell....there are lots of remedies but before I go on, I would suggest that you go see a naturopathic doctor who can take you history and give you something specific for your needs.
In terms of nutrition, take a B-complex everyday that has at least 75mg of ALL the B vitamins (Natural Factors makes a really good supplement that is not too expensive).
In terms of Botanical remedies, fever few is good for pain but botanical remedies do interact with prescription meds therefore it is necessary to contact a naturopathic doctor before use.
In terms of hydrotherapy, try cold compress on your head while taking a hot/warm foot bath.
Also, identify your triggers and try to avoid them as much as possible. Usuall triggers are; certain smells, certain foods, sunlight, heat, heavy music or loud sounds, sudden jerky movements, low blood sugar etc.
There are lots of homeopathic remedies as well but they are prescribed in a very individualistic manner so your history would be needed.

hope that helps....keep well :)

I get migraines a lot. Some of the ways I used to get rid of them or stop them when i feel one coming on is either go lay down in a dark and quiet room, take some kind of caffeine like a pepsi of coke this would help to.Also if you already drink caffeinated drinks and then stop for a while this can trigger a migraine as well.If you wish to stop drinking caffeinated drinks then you should slow down on them and slowly remove them from the things you drink.Do not stop drinking them all at once for that will just cause them to come back. Also try to avoid any kind of bright lights ( head lights on a car, looking at a comp. screen in the dark or even a tv in the dark, and sitting near or beside a bright light like a lamp)Hope something I just gave you helps. Good luck.

My Father used to get terrible migraines.
I taught him a reflexology technique that helped
him a lot.
Lightly massage the skin between your thumb and
index finger.
Do this continuously for five minutes. It helps if someone
can do it for you as you can relax better.
The pain should go away. That section of the hand is the
meridian to the part of the brain that is sensitive to
migraine pain.
Hope this works for you.

Hello. One tip: try to notice which kind of food you had in the 12 hrs before it started. Some people are oversensitive to i.e. : white wine, fish, chocolate, etc;.. Write down for several weeks all our intakes. Check and stay away from the food that causes prblms.
2nd tip-out of experience: my mother had terrible migraines for more than 20 yrs which kept her in bed and in dark for 2 days. One day she went to see a man in health area working with tubes containing various substances in homeopathy that he applied against her skin to test and find the culprit. Discovered that she was overloaded with smallpox vaccine (she had 2 shots too many in her youth, war time) and he cured her with homeopathy granules in a very short time. Never had one migraine ever since! That was 15 yrs ago! Hope this will be of help to you. Cheers!

Eliminate your intake of artificial ingredients and significantly reduce your intake of salt. Drinking hot water after having one dried shiitake mushroom steeped in it "desalienates" and a hot bath does this too. Try reading the book called "Becoming Whole."

Try a wet washcloth that is has been in the fridge, pour some rubbing alcohol on it and place it on your forehead. That used to work for a friend of mine.
