Can being underweight give you migraines?

i have already lost my periods.
and to day i have had the worst migraine for years.
i went really dizzy and almost fainted seeing double vision, then went numb and couldn't speak, then a killer headache and then i couldn't think at all, my mind kept thinking feast was ill, and words were different so no one understood me, i was getting so frustrated but i couldn't think at all, and i completely lost my memory, so tried to remember by writing things, but i could not write and when i tried i was writing different words to what i was thinking :( x x

By the sounds of things you defo. need a visit to the doctor with all the symptoms you are experiencing. Being underweight may mean you are undernourishing yourself, which will defo. make you tired, which could trigger migraines. So I'd get things checked out quickly.

hi there,

your body sounds very very unhappy! i'm not sure how underweight you are, but sounds like you are chronically underweight seen as though you have stopped menstruating, clearly you aren't eating often throughout the day and this is causing your blood sugar levels to drop drastically hence the dizzy and vision problems..what i recommend is trying to snack on something small every 2-3hours to keep your levels stable. snacks like bulgarian yogurt with a green tipped banana will go a long way to keep blood sugar at optimum level as this will be classified as a low glyceamic snack which allows for slow release of energy of period of time. drink water as well, headaches can be linked to dehydration! if you are struggling with an eating disorder, rather chat to someone - your body won't hang in there long if you abuse it! good luck.

in high school, when i was bulemic & trying 2 stay at no more than 99lbs. iwas always ffeeling faint & got dizzy spells. but i didnt get migrains, i would get these blackout fainting spells where everything would look all yellow &then there was ringing in my ears & i would totally pass out. everything would go black. and i had dagerously low blood pressure.

the human brain contains lots of fats...

make sure 20% of your calories are coming from fats...meats, nuts, oily fish, avocados etc etc.

This sounds really bad. The problem is far worse than being underweight...eat healthily and go and see your family.

Get well soon and merry Christmas.

Often people who are thin as well as being tal get headaches and are prone to fainting.

I wouls suggest going to your doctor just to be on the safe side if this continues.
