Do you know an effective medicine for migraine? ?

please tell me about it because my father (46 years old) suffers from bad migraine and wants a cure not an analgesic.
so do someone has cured from it ?

sometimes too much sugar intake will trigger a migraine for me, especially if I have not had a good night's sleep the night before. If I take Ibuprofen before the pain gets too intense, I can keep the migraine from getting to the point where I am vomiting and can't function at all from the pain.

So, the only cure I can think to offer is prevention. If he can narrow down what triggers these migraines, he can avoid the suffering. If he takes the analgesic (whatever medicine works for him) before the pain gets too intense, it will help him get through the day.

yr welcome, and I wish you the best helping you father. Report Abuse

Hard cheeses are to be avoided in addition to what the other poster mentioned. Stress doesn't help either.

I have good luck taking the over the counter migraine pills from Wally world made by excedrine or the generic. I try and notice the precursors, the blinding light where you can see everything except right where you are looking, the flashing light streaks when reading or watching tv, the flashing light aura around my viewing area when reading or watching tv or just looking around. When I notice these precursors, I take one of the migraine pills. For me, they stop the migraine before it happens, or greatly lessens it. Good luck.

Dear Whisper, sometime back I did look out for details on migraine. You may also browse the net to know more about it. For an effective medicine you'll have to consult a Doctor.
If I remember correctly, lack of good sleep at night, chocolates, ice cream, cold iced drinks while under the sun, bright sunlight, etc. are some of the things to avoid if a person is prone to migraine.
