How can I stop Migraine Aura?

I don't have a severe Migrane but I tend to have aura.. I am sensitive to lights and have light aura.... How can I stop that?? What are OTC drugs or Vitamins that I can take?? Any experience??

The only thing to prevent the aura is to prevent the migraine in the first place. Any preventative meds for migraine will, of course, stop the aura.

Learn your triggers inside out including: foods, rest, activities, sleep.

Unfortunately, nothing OTC prevents migraine. Any vitamins or supplements claiming to do so are unproven & a waste of money. I've had migraine myself for 35 yrs.

Nothing. Sometimes anxiety will bring on my aura. I never get the migraine. There will be months and years where I have none.... then I'll have three auras in one day. Deep breathing seems to help when one is coming on. And it tends to shorten it once it has arrived..

Interestingly, I have noticed over the last few years, that since I eat grains and steel cut oatmeal with walnuts for breakfast, I have had far fewer auras. If it has anything to do with cholesterol, I have no clue, but my LDL cholesterol is lower since I started having this for breakfast.

Go figure.

I pop a paracetamol, but you can't stop the aura once it's started. I think I may be getting one now from too much staring at the laptop answering Yahoo questions. :-(
