Is it a migraine, should i be concerned?

my boyfriend has been having these severe headaches for the past week , the pain is on the mid upper cranium and the pain wont go away he took some vicodine and the pain goes away for a couple hrs hen it comes back, is this a migraine or can it be something else, should i be concerned?? pls help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If it's the worst headache he has ever had, then he should see a doctor. If it is a migraine, there are drugs that will stop the migraine, as opposed to just masking it with pain medicine. With that said, the only medicine I have found to help my migraines is Vicodin, with Inderal as a preventive medicine I take daily. I haven't had a headache in a long time.

Also, it should be said that he should take medicine for the reason it was prescribed and never take someone else's medicine.

A migraine can be like this - I can tell you as a migraine sufferer.

Since this seems like something new, it could be something else, and should therefore be checked by a doctor.

If it ends up being migraine, don't take vicodine, but a medicine only containing Paracetamol. Please keep in mind to not give too much of the stuff as it works on the liver.

So, please go to the doctor to be sure. It could really be something serious.
