I took half of a darvocet that was prescribed to my wife, for a migraine headache, will it show in a drug test? |
I had a drug test today for a new job, I took this last night, as tylenol doesn't always do it for my headaches, I am worried this may fail me. But, am not sure because I didn't take even a whole pill. Will this cause me to fail the test, or do they allow for some levels of whats in darvocet? People seem to think that when given a drug test, you must be completely free of everything. What most employers are actually looking for is elicit drugs. they are probably testing for illegal drugs the darvocet might show up but they probably won't question it especially if it shows the level in your system and the level isn't high. Tell them you take it for migraines sometimes. Don't tell them it is your wife's. take care and I hope you get the job It depends on what type of test is done. A simple 5 Panel test will not detect it. It will be detected using a 10 Panel test. It will definitely be detected if the company uses a comprehensive toxicology screen. It depends on what they test for. Did they ask you to list your prescriptions or anything over the counter you had taken in the previous 24 hours. If not, then my guess is the darvocet will not be detected. I honestly don't know but you could try calling a pharmacist or MD. Usually, tho, drug tests performed for jobs are limited to looking for specific drugs, marijuana and things MORE POTENT than that. GOOD LUCK yes it will as an opite;it takes 3 days to be out ,but tell him you went to the dr before and they gave you one it can work in x did that You are fine. The number one smart thing to do is never take prescription anything, not even some over the counter things, cause even some over the counter stuff can have levels of things that would show up on a drug test. Especially since you knew you would be drug screened. Too late now, you've already taken it. Second smart thing to do would be to bring the prescription information with you, even though it's your wife's, and explain to them why you took it and how much, BEFORE you take the drug test, but too late for that also. So now you run the risk of coming up positive for the drug test, and no chance that they would hire you because you didn't tell them you just took part of a pill for a migraine. For all they know, you shot up with a needle, snorted, or smoked something, they can't know unless you tell them. Now the only thing they have to go by is the test results. Well, goodluck, I hope it doesn't show up, I hope you learned your lesson and hope you don't have to learn it again the hard way. |
