Using Excedrin for Migraines if you haven't been diagnosed? |
Twice in the past few months, I've had a headache that just feels horrible... my head aches and throbs and I'm sensitive to light and sound. It seems to be brought on by drinking Diet Coke and/or being around bright lights and loud music... perhaps even a combination of the two. It starts gradually and gets really bad. I have been sick to my stomach both times I've had this headache. The symptoms you're complaining do explain a migraine especially if you're a female in your teen years. Most times migraines will hit right about then. It has to do with the changes your body is going through right now. Coke has caffeine and this can be a factor along with the others you mention, but they also point to other things. Have you ever had any head injury's at all? I'm wondering if it might also be some petit mal seizures going on. The symptoms are the same. Either way you need to see a doctor asap. With both there's medication that can control the problem, and you can sometimes out grow them as you get older. It all depends on the doctors diagnosis. Sometimes you get a killer of a headache and you need relief. Its okay to take what you feel you need. Just don't be eatin' them liked candy. excedrin only masks the problem.I suggest stop all soda drinks. eat only natural foods. No artificial flavors especially MSG. I would drink plenty of water every day.If that doesn't work in about a week, see your doctor. It can be something more serious. Yes, it's fine. All Excedrin Migraine is is a combination of acetaminophen (the active ingredient in Tylenol), aspirin, and caffeine. It's not a special "migraine only" medicine. I actually take it for backaches, occasionally. im not sure what you should do. just read the back with all of the warnings and cation things and if you want you can go to the doctor. excedrin works great for headaches. whenever i take on i feel better in about 10 minutes. That doesn't sound like migraines I've seen, however, there's nothing all too special about Excedrin. I believe it isn't even OTC. I think it will be fine to take it as it is not a prescription. I wouldn't use Excedrin. It's very strong, unless you're over 18 and your organism might be able to handle it. I would use Tylenol, even though it doesn't always work. ;) You could also drink bitter tea- trust me it helps! You need to consult a doctor. From the looks of it, you do have migraine, Excedrins are multi dose drug categorize as pain relievers.. you can take one dose of it and if it gives you a relief from pain its ok, but if the pain does not go away, you have to consult a doctor about it.. |
