I have been told I have ocular migraines what is this and do I treat it? Ocular migraines causes temporary vision loss or distortion in one eye, usually accompanied or followed by a headache. They are also called retinal or ophthalmic migraines. They are caused by a sudden tightening of blood vessels, which reduces blood flow to the eye. Most under 5 minutes. then vision usually returns to normal. These can be scary to people but are typically harmless. Most people recover fully.
