Can Haldol be used for migraine headaches?

Can Haldol be used for migraine headaches?

In theory anything can. I will say though that I have never used Haldol for them and knowing how Haldol works, I wouldn't think it would help.

Be Well

** This is a serious answer - i recommend you do lots of your own research before trying it however - but it is an option you have and it has been proven to be effective **

LSD was used as a clinical treatment for migraine, albeit for a short period of time, before bad publicity over its recreational side effects brought about its removal. It was, however, an extremely effective treatment, far more so then either methysergide or ergotamine. Unlike its siblings, LSD was able to function at very small (sub-hallucinogenic) doses. A single dose was also sufficient to provide long term relief, often counted in months.

Procurring LSD

LSD comes in 2 main forms. Paper and microdot. The paper form may consist of fold and tear squares each measuring about 5mm x 5mm. There is usually a pattern on at least one side. Alternatively it may just look like a sheet of patterned wrapping paper. Either way the typical recreational dose would measure an area of 5mm x 5mm. The paper should be dry and in good condition. A microdot looks like a very small tablet. It resembles a small piece of pencil lead 0.25mm square. It should come enclosed in a piece of cellophane.

LSD can be illegally obtained from drug dealers. It is important to make the distinction between a drug dealer and a drug pusher. Dealers are merely criminals by virtue of their product range, whereas pushers are evil. Drug dealers are usually found in pubs and clubs. The best dealers are careful of who they deal to, so an introduction or proxy is essential.

Store LSD in a dark place. It degrades under light.

That was a basic intro - heres a little more lol - LSD is also effective against cluster headaches.

Neurology has an interesting report on the use of low doses of the hallucinogenic drugs LSD and psilocybin to treat cluster headaches.

Cluster headaches are incredibly painful and tend to occur frequently, making them particularly distressing for sufferers.

There were anecdotal reports that LSD and psilocybin (the main active ingredient in 'magic mushrooms') helped relieve these headaches and researchers have started to investigate more fully.

The Neurology study interviewed 53 cluster headache patients who had used psilocybin or LSD to treat their condition and found a significant number had their condition improved.

As cluster headaches are associated with the abnormal release of serotonin in the brain, and LSD and psilocybin largely work on the serotonin system, there is some theoretical basis for how the drugs might work.

However, this is a complex and poorly understood area so further controlled trials are now being planned to see whether the improvement is anything more than the placebo effect.

Interestingly, the study thanks drugs information site Erowid, as the site was involved in data collection and recruiting participants.

Research into LSD treatment for headaches was discussed in a recent edition of BBC All in the Mind.
