Would seeing a chiropractor assist with some discomfort of Multiple Sclerosis?

My spouse has had MS for 5 years now. He has different back issues some neuro muscular and others not. At any given time if I just push on his upper thoracic area you can feel and hear things poping in place.

DO you think a chiropractor would be effective with some of this treatment?

Please do not assume my husband is not seeing a neurologist.. he is and will continue I am an RN of 15+ years and have more common sense than that. Please before your post assume that others are just asking what the questions is asking... I would never turn over a chronic illness to a DC. Thats just assuming I am stupid. I am a bit offended.

I have had MS for many years and I find the Chiropractor helps GREATLY !! My Neurologist works directly with my Chiropractor and both will agree that my MS has Not progressed in the last 8 years and as a matter of fact I feel sooo much better

According to my Chiropractor yes. Chiropractor's are relatively cheap to see so maybe make an appointment to discuss this with one near you.

I think it is worth a try. I have been seeing Chiropractors on and off for the past 40 yrs and have found them to be of great help. Not only do they help relieve the pain in my back and joints (due to arthritis) but they also help to bring your body into a healthier state of being. Since there is nothing invasive I believe it would be worth a try.

I have not read where therapy can help with MS but who knows it is worth a try. It certainly can't harm your husband and
it might take away some of the muscle pain and return that
could allow him to sleep better. How fast is he progressing
with this disease? Some people can hold the progress down
for years, some not. Good diet, lots of rest, and strong
determination will also help him to cripple more slowly I would
think.

If muscle spasticity is causing spasms and misalignment of the spine or other joints, a chiropractor might be able to reduce pain from these causes. More importantly, a chiro might also be able to recommend some stretches or exercises to keep the problems from recurring.

NEVER EVER SEE A CHIROPRACTOR IF YOU HAVE A SERIOUS DISEASE.

MS is not a disease Chiropractors are trained to treat.
THe massage and "adjustments" may make him feel better by relaxing some muscles, but usually not for long. Talk to his Neurologist. There may be some other therapy that would help. Do not turn over the management of MS to a DC. Just not their territory.
