Multiple sclerosis; swollen feet ?

my mother was (resently] diagnosed with multiple sclerosis about mid-last summer. she said the meds were making her sad/depressed which it was.. i realized.. now.. her feet are swollen like CRRAAAZZY. like huge. i want her to get better; but she doesnt want to inject herself with needles no more. she used to have to do it once a week and hated it.

shes going to the doctors tuesday; but im just worried.

any ideas?

any (helpful] comments would be appriciated.
God Bless <3

Ps. my mom is like 34... i think ?
if that helps.

Hi, First of all, I am sorry that your mom has to deal with this "MonSter" as some call MS, she is too young in my view. You sound like a caring daughter.

The medication sounds like Avonex, which is an interferon, and the side effects can include depression, MS also can cause depression, which is a common one. Is she on any kind of anti-depressants, if not, this is something she and her doctor can decide on.

As for the swelling, not sure that has anything to do with MS, but if she has been on Solumedrol (sp) or any kind of steroid treatment, that would be considered in the swelling. What medications does she take?

Hang in there, your mom will be ok, this is a crazy disease, and effects everyone different. I am a member of a great group in yahoo and it might help you and your mom out, as MS is not just one person disease, it does effect the family as a whole.

Cherokee, a person living with MS.
Group name: MSResources. I hope I have that right, maybe the creator will reply to your post also.
