How would I know if my sympoms were Multiple Sclerosis?

I've never discussed MS with my doctor, but I do have Fibromyalgia, Chronic Myofascial Pain, Neuropathy, Carple Tunnel Syndrome and no telling what else.

The syptoms that concern me is
1. right side of body is in pain and less able to function.
2. pain occurs in arms with no reason and sometime lasts all day and I miss work.
3. stinging and tingling and sharp pain in feet & legs suddenly. Sometimes I scream!
4. Trouble driving because feet don't do what I say.
And stinging in hands make holding wheel painful,
5. Trouble standing...fell twice in one night on friends I was talking to. MRI said it was disk L5 pressing S1 nerve.
6. Weird visions in eyes open or shut...I see same thing...like words and faces....
7. You have to face me to talk to me and must be within 5 feet or I hear nothing. (Since 1985)
8. Sensitive to heat, pain, and also cold fingers.
9. Slight stuttering and can't say word or name I need/mean
10. whole body muscle constriction.
11. take welbutrin

I think anyone with fibromyalgia and vision problems should be checked for MS. They check with a brain scan or MRI for brain lesions. Mine was negative for MS but I have some of what you have. You have a very extensive set of symptoms and if I were you I would ask the doc for a test for MS as soon as possible. Source(s): I have 6 out of your 11. FMS, Chronic Fatigue, Major Depresson, etc. Aren't the vision things weird? I can't get any doctor to understand what it looks like!
you may not have MS but it is always better to consult your doctor. MS is controllable if diagnosed early

Hi there,

It doesn't sound like you have MS but it certainly sounds like you have a complicated medical history. You really need to be speaking to a professional about this rather than seeking advice on here. If you are not satisfied with the care you are receiving, please seek a second - or even a third - opinion. You most definitely need to be managed in a clinical setting.

Take care and all the best.
the diagnosis of ms requires evidence that at least to different regons of the CNS white matter was affected at different times.MRI is choice in diagnosis of MS and if was not typical LP will be done for diagnosis.visual evoked potential is very useful method for diagnosis of optic neuritis caused by MS.due to my expirence normal VEP easily R/O ms.at end i hope that you don,t have MS because it dosen,t have a good prognosis. with best wishes
