Juicy Juice says on box "no sugar added" but in nutrition facts on the back....? |
My friend and I noticed on the Juciy Juice juice box it says on it "no sugar added", but on the back of the box it says the percentage of how much sugar is in it says 15 grams...could someone explain? The label is correct on both sides. They have not added any refined sugar to the juice. This product is made with real fruit juice and therefore has natural sugar in it from the fruit. The "no added sugar" pertains to no added granulated sugar like you add to your cereals and in candy. Natural sugars are good in SMALL amounts. That's the 'natural sugar' that is already present in the fruit. it means that they don't add any more to this. You can't extract the sugar from fruit so you'll never have a 'sugarfree' fruitjuice (unless it's artificial) That sugar in the juice is natural sugar from the fruit. The company does not add any refined sugar to the juice therefore had no added sugar. Fruit (and fruit juice) naturally has sugar in it. The nutrition facts would indicate how much fruit sugar, or fructose, is in the juice. Could just be the sugar in the juice. All fruits have sugar. All it is saying is that the company itself added no sugar. That's the sugar that naturally occurs in the fruit, There are natural sugars in fruit so there is no truly sugar free fruit juice. juicy juice is made from fruit, fruit contains sugar naturally it's the natural sugars that are inside fruit....... sugat is contained in fruits and veggies. so its 15 grams in the fruit. |
