I ate a Crisper's flatbread for dinner last night. It wasn't big... Yet when I looked up the nutrition facts?

today, it said that there's 2 servings per flatbread, and ONE serving is 390 calories, meaning there are 780 calories in the whole thing! It's really hard for me to believe that little "meal" is 780 calories. It seemed very healthy! :-/ Is it really 780 calories for the whole thing?

Maybe I misinterpreted their note underneath that said "FLATBREAD INFORMATION IS BASED ON 2 SERVINGS PER ORDER. OUR FLATBREADS ARE LARGE AND ARE DESIGNED
TO BE SHARED." but I don't think I did... Seriously, though.....almost 800 calories for that tiny thing??

Is this really true?

This is the site I got the info from:
http://www.crispers.com/pdfs/nutritional...

Dal - good answer. It's just....the entire "2" portions was really small and it was veggies, spinach flatbread (really flat!), and a bit of cheese.... It really really doesn't seem like it should be 800 calories :-( It tasted great, but I thought that was because of the spices used, not all the fat that's actually in it. VERY disappointing :-( Honestly, I'm not usually surprised by nutiritional facts of foods because I've been looking at them for a while now. THIS one, however, I was very surprised :-( I still have a hard time believing it :-(

You actually would be very surprised at any portion size.We are only suppose to eat meals as big as our palm.
I like you had gone to Panera Bread one day decided to have the turkey /artichoke and spinach sandwich.I then came home and thought I will look up the calories on the web site.I almost died.At panera almost every sandwich has over 50 grams of fat!
So now i noticed they switched the size of the sandwich on the facts and do a smaller portion so you cant have less calories and fat grams when you are looking at it on line.
It adds up easily when you drink sweet tea and things also.

From what I read, you ate TWO portions of flat bread for dinner, and yes, you did eat about 800 calories. Most of the time, nutritional information is given in '1 serving size' but the product can be multiple servings. Take Pepsi for example, a 20 oz. is consumed normally by 1 person in a single sitting (ie. lunch), so you may think that the 28g of sugar, 28g of carbs and 100 calories weren't that bad. But if you pay closer attention to the label, you will see that a 20 oz. is supposed to be 2.5 servings (the exact same trick the flat bread uses). Your calories from that single pepsi now went to 250, and sugars and carbs went to 69g each.

You didn't misinterpret what you read, you just thought it was healthier than it really was. Remember, practically all things that taste great...are bad for you. While I've never been to or seen a Crispers flatbread, the nutritional information doesn't lie (high carbs, high salt, a bit of fats. It has a good amount of protein in the meal though. Personally, I don't get surprised by the labels anymore. A long time ago, no one thought that a little can of coke was all that bad for you either (until reading nutritional labels became so popular).
