Do protein shakes or any type of nutrition shake really enhance muscle mass when working out?

Do protein shakes or any type of nutrition shake really enhance muscle mass when working out?

Protein is supposed to be used to rebuild muscle, it is not a very good source of energy. Carbohydrates are the best source of energy, calories are second, fat is third. Drink your protein shake after a work out to rebuild muscle mass, do not drink it before a work out, your wasting time! Source(s): Sports Nutrtion class
Not for sure if it makes a lot of muscle mass, but what muscle it builds will be quality muscle that will last you your whole life. Don't do steroids unless you want to end up with cancer, or deflated muscles later in life. Hard workouts and plenty of high quality protein will put you on the road to well developed muscles that last a lifetime.
Yes either protein shakes or nutrition shakes (creatin, etc.) help build and enhance lean muscle mass. It is best to take them directly after your workout for best results.
