What is the difference between eating the fruit and drinking its juice as far as nutrition goes? |
What is the difference between eating the fruit and drinking its juice as far as nutrition goes? Juice is pasturized so all the nutients are killed, bet you did not know that, so any health benefits from juice are because the manufacturer has put some form of nutrients back into it. That's a quetion I wish I knew the answer to... If it is packaged juice, the longer it sits the more nutrients you lose. You also do not have any fiber in the juice, that is in the fruit. fruit is packed with so many nutrients. you get a lot from eating an orange, that juice doesn't give you. for example, most people prefer oj without the pulp, however, they don't know what they're missing. antioxidants, and tons of vitamins are extracted during the juicing process. and a bunch of sugar is added to the juices too! the juice from a store has added sugars and such to it, juice companies target area is for the parents of small children so to make it taste better they add sweetener to it, which is not good. Even so the fruit can also be bad (just not as much), b/c of the added phosfates people use to make them grow faster. So buy it from the guys on the side of the road with the truck loads of stuff, its better and cheaper Simple. if the fruit/vegtable juice is bought from a store, there is less nutrition. If you have a juicer, and make your own juice, it will have the same amount of nutrition, but the vitamins will absorb better. So if you make your own fruit/veg juice, you'll get a bit more out of it, than if you eat it. it's much better for digestion, too. Well, that, and it's easyer to drink, than eat. Does that anwser your question? Health magazines, ect. |
