If there wasn't any fast food restaurants, do you think there would be such thing as obesity?

Fast food is the main cause of obesity, I know because every single obese I've seen frequents fast food restaurants.

i don't think obesity would exist. I think there would be larger people but that is all based on metabolism and thyroid glands. There would still be people who didnt excersize as much as they should which would cause some extra pounds on some people. But if people weren't always frequenting fast food joints almost daily, there wouldnt be the obesity or heart and cholesterol problems that there are today.

There were overweight people throughout history so to answer you question yes there would.

yes, there would still be other fatty foods. not as much obesity, but it wouldn't be wiped off the face of the earth or anything

yes definantly. obesity is not only caused by fast food, but by lack of exercise, stress, pregnancy, and other high-fat foods.

Even if there was no such thing as fast food, there still would be people that eat too much of regular food. I think that obesity is unavoidable. Some people protest against other people trying to save them from their own choices.

if there wasnt, hardley anybody would be overweight

please answer...thanks:)

well not all people are obese because of fast food. I think that would dramtically decease the percent of obesity but not all. After i watched "suoer size me"i havn't even touched any fast food for 7 years.

who knows???

fast food restaurants do make people fat b/c after they don't have to cook they sit in there *** all day

Most likley not, having all the advertising for food and having access to a fast food joint at every corner makes hungry .

YES. Dont you think people will fill up on junk food!!!

Intresting question. The answers is yes. There has always been obesity just not as rampant.

yeah there would be, not all people that are obese eat at fast food resturants

Probably, I also think that obesity is a problam because we get little to no activity and machines do our work for us.

There will be severly over-weight people no matter what....have you not heard of the elephant man? If there is an elephant man, there must be an elephant woman and elephant kids! What a dumb question!

Fast food restaurants or not, People make the choice to go eat at those places. It's not like the fast food chains force people to go there and eat their food, Plus some people don't know how to cook, don't have time, or are just plain lazy to cook. There has always been fat people throughout history, It's always an excuse to blame fast food restaurants for obesity. But even if you don't get out at these places, you can still eat lots of junk food at home and be over weight. My point is, we make the choice to eat what we want. And if you are judging those people who are eating at these restaurants for their appearance is messed up. Who are you to judge? Fat or not who gives a F***? Focus on more important things, than fat people.

Please, fat people have been around since the beginning of time. Fat food has nothing to do with it. It's about health, cravings, nutrition overall, money. People porked up on macaroni and pasta before fast food or home made ice cream and candy.

Fast food is not the cause of obesity, my dear. The cause of obesity is eating more calories than you burn. I know very overweight people that never eat fast food and very thin people that eat it all the time. I myself am not fat but I do eat a lot of fast food. However, I am always on the move and work out so I don't gain weight.

Yes, there would still be obesity because people would eat more of homemade foods. There were fat people hundreds of years ago and there would be fat people today even if there were no McDonald's.

"Fast food is the main cause of obesity, I know because every single obese I've seen frequents fast food restaurants"

Are you a doctor, my dear? I doubt it. Do you know every single obese person on the planet? I don't think so.

ya, i agree

If not for fast foods they would just have to fry it up themselves. People like to eat so it will not change. Until people get off their lazy behinds and hit the gym and push the dinner tray away there will always be obesity. Fast food just makes it easier but it is not the cause and definitely not the cure.

yes

yes because of supermarkets (candy, soda, etc.) but no fast food would help dramasticly

Just because you've seen overweight people eat at a fast food restaurant doesn't mean that's why they are obese. That's an ignorant assumption. Are you following these individuals to know what their eating habits are? Slothfulness,an unhealthy diet and often times a medical condition can be the cause of obsesity. Certain medications make you gain weight so NO even if fast food restaurants didn't exist overweight people would.

Yes. Obesity will still exist, but not as many people will be obese. There are many other foods with a lot of fat in them.

I think it would make people be less obese but they can eat other foods that will cause them to get fat
