Help! I'm looking for a science project that pertains to the obesity epidemic in America.?

I can't think of any! I can build a calorimeter, but I don't know what I would be proving with that.

Also, the project could be about the fat content of foods.

Thanks!

YOu don't give an age, but I think if you can develop models to show how much sugar and fat are in popular foods it will be enlightening, eye-catching, and relevant.

For example: Using sugar cubes: show how many sugar cubes are in a candy bar, 64 Oz or 2 Liter bottle of soda, etc.

You can do the same with fat. Using Crisco or another fat that won't liquify at room temperature, show how much fat is in a Big Mac, Venti Caramel Macchiato from starbucks, etc.

I think most people would be astounded how much our typical diet contains of fat and sugar.

When you see a pile of sugar cubes and scoops of Crisco and you realize that that Starbucks drink and the big mac equal THAT stuff visually...it gets in your psche a bit.

Good luck to you.
