MIND CONTROL? is Big Brother here? why has obesity become an epidemic? why so much violence nowadays?opinions?

I'm sure that most of you have read George Orwell's "1984"; if you haven't, I highly recommend it.

What do you think are the means, by which our minds are attempting to be controlled? or just simply influenced one way or another?

As referred to in my posted question, why has obesity become a major health concern today?

Why is violence so prevalent in nearly all forms of recreation and/or entertainment in modern day society - not only here in this country, but all over the world.

If you have other examples that you feel are the results of mind control in whatever medium or form, please list and explain.

My candidates are the media, especially TV. How many of the commercials on TV advertise food as an elixir for happiness? Contentment? Pleasure?

How many billboards have you seen on the free way advertising, "All you can eat buffet---------".

Children's videos games, needless, unbridled violence: enjoy! enjoy! enjoy!

George Orwell was a latter day prophet of sorts. Must have had a crystal ball, I think! Seriously, he saw a lot of things coming and was a great political analyst (Animal Farm.)
I think the state of affairs in society today is "DOUBLE PLUS UNGOOD!" Iraq reminds me of the wars in 1984. So does Vietnam, for that matter.
Gratuitous violence is a mark of the decline of intelligence in our culture and elsewhere. When I was a child, The Three Stooges were funny to me. However, when I grew up I realized that although slapstick actors had a certain talent, what the stooges did was stupid and in a lot of shorts, racist and sexist.
The world is going to hell in a hand basket. YES! BIG BROTHER IS HERE, HAS BEEN FOR SOME TIME AND HE IS WATCHING US ALL!

Edit: I forgot to answer the obesity question. Two reasons: SUPERSIZE IT! and poverty. Some people in urban areas don't have a grocery store that sells fresh produce for MILES. They have no choice but to eat food that is processed, starchy, high in fat and filling. The dollar menu at Mickey D's is the best way to feed the family for a lot of people. Sad.

I think if you asked these all as separate questions you'd get more dedicated and informative answers...

Big brother is here but what's worse is we're welcoming him into our lives. Take the implanted chip, we start with animals then we say to bring our children home we need to implant them with this chip and as a parent we say, hey that makes sense but like everything else we don't get the hold story. I'm sure that chip is going to do more then locate the individual. Maybe the chip will know what you're buying and where you're buying it from. The chip will know what person you're talking to if the other person also have a chip, etc.

I believe violence has come from our abundance, we become arrogant and so we show little appreciation for what we have and for those around us. People allow money to change them, if possible notice a person before they had money and then look at them after they've got plenty of money the difference will be striking.

mind control is a feeling of power, eating all the time is a habit sometimes nervous habit or bordom,lonely. the things you see on television now just puts your mind on bad things like, evil, mean, and nasty things no wonder there's so much bad going on in the world. the music is the same way. it's like somewhere someone doesn't want people to have good thoughts or do good things. makes you wonder why anyone watches or listens to all this.

I don't think there is an obesity epidemic. And I don't think obesity is a result of any mind control activities. I am an obese man at 620 and know why I am obese. I wanted to be this way because I love being very fat. Did someone control my mind to make me obese? No. I decided on my own in my early 40s I was happiest being very fat and spent 9 years of so overeating by choice to add 400 pounds. No alien influence here - just pure enjoyment of food and being fat.
