Opinion about paper on obesity for college?

I am starting to work on my final paper for this semester. I am assigned to write a cause and effect essay, and I would like to write about obesity. My teacher mentioned that we would all be reading our rough drafts aloud to the class, (it's a small class at a Community College) and openly discussing the topics, etc...

So, here's my question: There are a couple of obese people in my class, and I'm wondering if it would be unethical and offensive to these people? Of course, the essay will be factual, I will do my research and I will be as tactful and diplomatic as possible.... Let me know what your opinion is about this!

Thanks in advance!

If you present your facts in a way that is not judgemental against these people then you should have nothing to worry about.

Approach the subject very sensitive like. Also overeating isn't the only thing that causes obesity. Remember that. Thyroid problems. Diabetes. Also people are put on steroids and gain weight too.

it shouldn't be, but you might find that they identify with your 'causes'. if they're sensitive thing- abuse, low self-esteem etc., then they might be upset.
discuss it with your teacher, he's probably used to this sort of dilemma.
