How do you overcome obesity?


i weigh 86kgs whereas i m supposed to weigh 60kgs. please tell me the solution. i am 34 years old.

Obesity is a serious problem in todays society. Something that you have to remember that reducing weight should not be your ultimate goal. Your aim should be to develop a healthy lifestyle which will result you in reducing weight, but more important will make you fit overall for life.

Healthy living and lifestyle is not a one week or one month routine. Instead it has to be practised everyday - incorporated in your lifestyle.

A few basic guidelines will help you go a long long way to acheive weight loss as well as ensure a healthy lifestyle -

1. Start with moderate exercise like brisk walking - once or twice a day.
2. Control what you put in your body -
a.Do away with all soft drinks
b. Avoid foods with high fat content
c. Stay away from high calorie, low nutrition foods like
chocloates, candies, etc
d. Eat slowly. Chew your food well. You will realize that
you are able to satisfy your hunger with less food. Your
stomach becomes full, but it takes time to signal the
brain to tell you to stop eating.

Avoid heavy meals post 5 pm in the evening.

These are only a few tips. You will get loads of help online on a majority of sites. Just use google.

With focus, determination and preservance, you will be able to succeed in your goal

Hard work and research. No matter what anyone says, that's all it takes - not pills, not magic drinks, nothing.

Plan your day's calories. Plan your meals. Stock your house with delicious-looking vegetables and fruits, low calorie snacks like popcorn, wholegrain cereal, yogurt cups, wholegrain crackers. Don't go for buttery foods, pork, beef, lamb, cheeses, sugar, alcohol, white breads or fried foods. Eat lots of vegetables.

Go out for walks, do some yoga, dance to some music, jump on a trampoline, play the Nintendo Wii boxing or dance dance revolution, or clean your house thoroughly. That burns a lot of calories and builds muscle.

It's not a glamorous answer, but it worked for me.

You have to realize that everything you do is by choice. The food you put into your mouth and then feel guilty about is choice. Watching a tv show on the couch vs. getting some exercise is also a choice. These decisions as everything else we know and love start in our brains as decisions we make. If we keep making these decisions over and over again, they become patterns and addictions. If you start making some healthy decisions and make these into patterns/addictions you will find that you are now living a healthy lifestyle.

It is a nightmare for some people who want to deal with the problem of overweight and obese. In fact, a lot of people are overweight mainly because of their lifestyles. People may have prejudices on a person who is fat or overweight. They may find that a fat man is funny if they feel happy on one day. However, the case will be worse if the overweight person is a woman.

As a matter of fact, how do we see yourselves will greatly affect by how others see us. For most of use, it is very difficult not care about what others say. Due to this fact, a lot of people who are overweight would prefer staying at home rather than going out. They will avoid moving too much. And they will not do any exercises. This in fact will make more fat to be accumulated. As a result the problem of overweight will become even more severe.

It is also relatively more difficult for overweight people to have relationships. As a matter of fact, people who are overweight are generally reluctant to be naked. And this will certainly ruin their relationships in sex. As mentioned, overweight people will not choose to go out and this will make it even more difficult for them to find partners.

Well.. there are few ways if you could try... like
# Get out and about at the weekend. Leave your car on the drive and walk to the shops. Try to incorporate longer walks into outings to the park, coast or countryside and take a picnic so you are in control of what you are going to eat that day.

# Every extra step you take helps. Always use the stairs instead of the lift, or get off the bus a stop before the usual one and walk the rest of the way.

# Use commercial breaks between TV-programmes to stand up and do exercise, or consider using an exercise bicycle in the living room while watching your favourite programme.

It's not possible to reduce body fat while eating lots of food, cakes and sweets. This doesn't mean you can never have any treats, but you need to learn how to limit these foods to small quantities - say, for special occasions.

~ Don't take any sugar in your tea.
~ Every day at least walk 25 minutes in your lunch break EACH HOUR or any break you get from work walk half of your break may be..
~Eating 300 to 500 calories less per day should lead to a loss of between one and two pounds per week.
~Increase the amount of activities you do.
# Replace fizzy drinks and fruit cordials with water.

# Swap whole milk for semi-skimmed, or semi-skimmed for skimmed.

# Eat less lunch than usual. For example, make your own sandwich and limit the use of margarine/butter and full-fat mayonnaise (store-bought sandwiches often contain both).

# Stop taking sugar in tea and coffee.

# Have smaller portions of the food you enjoy.

# Avoid having a second helping at dinner.

# Cut out unhealthy treats such as confectionary, sugary biscuits and crisps between meals.

# Cut down on beer and alcohol.

Keep the routine and check every month in your old clothes you wil see the difference..

avoid all junk foods including sodas and juice. eat plenty of fruit and vegatables and have 3 healthy meals. Try to get 1500 calories a day.

Also, do some cardio and weight lifiting. For cardio you should do some interval training 3 times a week at 30 minutes per session.
