Why is it wrong to challenge the morality of gluttony and obesity?

I had a question deleted, and later restored after appeal, addressing ALL you can eat/supersize mentality....you would have thought I just said something bad about Mormons the way people pushed their report buttons....Why is it so offensive to address ?

I'm 175 cm and weigh 56 kg

Im fat (for an englishman) and I know some fat people can be pretty militant, I dont care Pasty for dinner beer for tea, I am 35 still have three alive grandparents in their 90's I dont imagine they ever ate a whole salad, gluttony is pretty obscene, but at the end of day it is how happy you are and how you are able to grin and bare life that sees you through to a ripe old age.

In my opinion--as an overweight person--it's not wrong to challenge the morality of gluttony. Keep in mind, though, that gluttony extends to "evil excesses" (according to St. Augustine)--which could be in terms of food, alcohol, etc.

Morally (I mean, according to religious views) gluttony is wrong because it's selfish--while some people are wolfing down 32oz sodas and buckets of KFC chicken, others are starving to death or dying from drinking contaminated water.

It's only morally right--as part of the human community--to take/eat what we need to survive and leave the rest for others. Given, this held more weight in agricultural societies (particularly of the ANE and the Middle Ages/Renaissance), but the concept still holds true.

gluttony is not all about eating a lot, it means any excessive love of pleasure. I guess it doesn't get as much hate because it rarely directly harms people other than the person partaking in it. For an example of gluttony that is challenged, look at how we view drug users.

It's the most un-addressed discrimination in our culture.
