McDonalds/fast food and obesity, can they really be to blame? |
Surely nobody is forcing people to eat at McDonalds or other fast food chains so why are they getting the blame? My biggest gripe is the fact that they are getting blamed for children getting fat............it's the parents buying it for them!!!!! Next time you see a fat child look at the parents, you will notice a pattern. Mcdonalds has nothing to do with obesity Both McDonalds and the people that eat there are to blame. Surely, McDonalds isn't responsible for who eats there but they advertise so much. Think of it this way, if there was no McDonalds, and less Fast-food places all together, would people be generally healthier... most likely, because they won't go for that cheap, "good", fattening unhealthy food. McDonalds is cheap, everyone that goes there obviously likes the food, they draw in little kids with toys, and with playgrounds, which eventually causes those kids to make a habit of eating their food. They promote crap. This is just how i see it. One thing that people are upset with and not upset with (at the same time) is portion size. We tend to eat what we put in front of us, and science has proved our brain does not signal to us that we are full, until we are beyond full. IT'S ALL THE PARENTS FAULT! Being a mom working full time I understand how much easier it is to drive through somewhere and pick up dinner for the kids. It's too easy. But I know what is best for my children. I try to cook more often than not and only pick up fast food when our schedule is absolutely too tight to fit cooking time in. As parents we are responsible for what our children eat and what habits they form. At least McDonald's has incorporated some more healthier options into their meals. You have to give them credit for that. I don't see those options at Burger King or other burger fast food chains. What do you think? No, they can't get the blame because who is buying the food: the parents. For the adults if you know you can't control the way you eat then don't eat out. Take the blame for your own actions and stop blaming them on other people. People have a mind of their own and a will to choose whatever they would like to eat so they are not totally to blame No because Ronald McDonald wasn't fat! (He probably just died of food poisoning or something..lol) Getting rid of McDonalds is like getting rid of guns..... there will still be crime and there will still be fat people. Besides, They sell healthy food people just choose not to buy it. ppl want to stuff themselves with the crap all fast food restaurants serve... its there own fault, they choose what to eat and how to exercise if at all. It's the image they're giving fast food through advertising to children that people don't like. people that feed their children that and any other kind of junk food are responsible for child abuse - disgusting! ******* poo NO DUGH WACH im drawing a blank...SUPERSIZE ME!! yer If all the western countries obese people were to eat sensibly (ie. less) would the looming world food shortage be avoided? |
