The UK has an obesity problem then why...?

are shops and market traders still selling clothes up to the size of 16. Only an handful of shops sell size 16+.

Too true. They are very slow in meeting the consumers demands.

1) To appeal to the people who wear up to that size
2) To appeal to the people who would like to wear that size
3) Some stores don麓t offer bigger sizes, and so you have to find another store.

It麓s the same in other countries, even the United States (which also has an obesity problem)

It is not considered a major problem by the UK government, not as bad as it is in America. The UK government is seen to be proactive in tackling the obesity crises and due to this it does not appear to be financially viable to make larger clothes, there is not enough money to be made from these fat people.

You'll find alot of the major highstreet shops are getting bigger sizes in, i.e. New Look has a larger range i think it goes up size 24 and the Arcedia group stocks big sizes, but i think the larger sized ladies dont buy their real size anyway, always smaller. Denial most likely not lack of their size =)

Something I ask myself regular, there is a massive market out there for plus size fashion yet no one seems to be taking the bait and making a killing by doing it.

because they dont want to give into it.
that large people have to go to special shops.
and also those styles dont suit people that are size 16+

Less material makes it cheaper for factories to make the clothes

haha actually i have no idea why

The UK doesn't yet have an obesity crisis like America, but we are going down that road.

no ur thinkin of the US. were all fattys over here. lol.

It's the same in the US. Just shop online for plus sized clothing.

becuse english people are fat and lazy
