ANorexia/Obesity?

If people snub other people who say that obesity is NOT a disease, then do they think that anorexia or bullimia are a disease.. or are they just against fat people?

okay. well i had anorexia. and its hard to explain, but heres the best way to explain it. when you look at yourself you see yourself + like 50 lbs. its an awful feeling. it becomes where u stop eating, thats when it anorexia.... its a disease of the head, because u think your fat. untreated it can lead to being hospitalized and then your stomach cant handle food so they have to feed you by IV.
hope that helps you see the anorexia side,
dino goes rawr :]

It's two completely different things. Anorexic and bulimic people see themselves as fat. they have a disease. they constantly vomit, or just starve themselves because they want to be skinnier. They aren't completely "right" in the head. No, they aren't slow or anything, but there IS something wrong with people who think they're fat when they're only 80 pounds. Do you now what I mean?

Obesity isn't a disease. People that become obese just tend to eat a lot of bad things. There is nothing mentally wrong with obese people. They're just fat. They're still mentally healthy. Anorexic people are constantly striving for something that doesn't exist, and they don't realize how skinny and disgusting they become. THAT is a disease. Being obese is just physically unhealthy.

Obesity isn't a disease it is a symptom of a disease, this can be an eating disorder such as binge eating or it could be a number of other diseases such as metabolic or genetic disorders or thyroid problems. But like any other disease it is your responsibility to do what you can to fight it, this means going to the doctor and following their instructions.

Anorexia and bulimia are disease. Obesity is sometimes a diseases, usually its a huge weight gain. A lot of the time though its just that people don't eat the right food and exercise to keep themselves healthy.

obesity is a state. the road to obesity is a disease. being really unhealthily skinny is a state. the road to being really unhealthily skinny is a disease.

Anorexia or Bulimia is a disease, because it's a mental disease.
General Obesity is not, while the cause of the huge weight gain may be.

obesity isn't a disease..it's more of a condition. binge-eating is usually the disease that causes obesity.

Obesity is a disease, look it up in the DSM-IV-TR (American Psychological Association diagnostical aid)
