TTC and Obesity... how possible is it to get pregnant?

Husband and I have been trying to concieve, but haven't been able to for the past year. I know they say being obese can be the problem, but what are the chances, percentage wise, of concieving and being obese?

I work in a hospital and see 300 plus woman having babies all the time. I know that everyone is different. I am overweight and have been trying for a while to get pregnant as well. Me and my hubby have gone on a diet to see if it helps our progress. I will keep you updates. Just keep trying.

I had a patient that was over 400 lbs and pregnant, it can happen under the right circumstances. I am considered overweight, and I got pregnant with one shot and on the pill. Maybe you and your husband could try a diet program together, and see if it helps. Otherwise visit a fertility doctor, it could be that your body is just having a hard time or his sperm count could be low. There's alot of reasons besides just obesity. Good luck.

Everyone is different. Some obese women seem to conceive just fine while others have difficulty. I don't know of the particular statistics but obesity can play a role in infertility (as well as being underweight).
Usually the first thing a Dr. will recommend is losing some weight to see if that makes a difference.

The general consensus is that obesity lowers conception chances greatly, This is not always true, I know alot of people who are obese and theyhave heaps of kids, it's more important that you have a healthy attitude and mindset and eat healthy etc and exercise, it can happen for anyone no matter their size.

no matter what the doctor or other ppl say, every body is different, so u could concieve. my mom had problems to, but hers where different she would get pregnant and then miscary. go to ur family doctor. tell him/her u want hin to examine ur body. therefor he can tell u what postition and etc. but like i said it all depends on ur body and how u r trying. but percentage rate i would say unless u r sterile everyone has a 50/50 chance. so dont loose hope. good luck.

My best friend in highschool had a severly obese sister. She had 5 kids within 4 years, all very healthy. It is possible.

My ex-husband was obese and his sperm count was low. Not sure if the two are related!

took me 6mos with first and 10mos with second and I'm definitely no skinny minny. I think it depends on your body.

your chances are much slimmer... because your body isnt physically healthy enough to conceive and the risk of miscarriage is much higher as well

wow didn't kno bout that thank you
