Lingering effects of obesity? |
I just turned 40 and I weighed 225 pounds. Over the last year, I have gotten down to 140 pounds. I'm very healthy now with no medical problems, and have low blood pressure. My question is this: the human body is very resilient, it normally takes decades of neglect to cause permanent damage to the body. typically the shorter the time spent being severely overweight the less damage there may have been caused. monitor your body fat % and shoot for a level that is below average for your age group. make sure to consume plenty of unsaturated fats to keep a healthy HDL:LDL ratio and decrease the risk of CVD, etc. There shouldn't be risk unless you eat trans fat for breakfast. |
