Is lack of fiber a contribution factor to obesity?

Soluble fiber gives people the feeling of feeling full and non-soluble fiber helps clean out the lower intestine. You see all these adds nowadays for "cleansing" Could it be Americans just need to eat less crap and produce more in the bathroom?

Does anyone know a heavy person on a high fiber, low fat diet?

Definitely Yes!!
One must have sufficient fibers in his/her diet. As you only told that it gives us feeling of fullness which prevent us to eat more.
Fiber diet also keep our cholesterol at low level.
Fiber diet keeps our digestive track clean.
So, a over weight person must switch to a high fiber and low carbohydrate diet to loose his/her weight.

well yes but a small factor in it.. the majority is due to lack of exercise, and too much consumption of carbohydrates and processed foods..
