Is Fast Food/Obesity A Controversial Issue? |
Is it a controversial issue...if so what is so controversial about it...if not what is one? I would say that controversy is in the eye of the beholder. Generally I think that people would be inclined to consider obesity/fast food a controversial issue, especially in the u.s. There is a lot of thought in the u.s. that people have a god given right to do anything, such as clog their arteries and feed their children horrible food. Any infringement upon that right is a declaration of war, according to some. Also, obesity is embarrassing...horrible so, if you haven't been there you really can't imagine. Many people may think it's controversial because people who bring it up are often seen as being anti-fat people. Source(s): When I was 14 (i'm 19 now) I weighed 232 lbs, so I know what that's like...and I never ate fast food...I think it may have been to do with an anxiety disorder, and of course an eating disorder...any way now I'm 155. Two summer's ago I worked at McDonalds (and I'm a vegetarian)...i'm not sure if that's gives me any sway here...but i'll call it a source anyhow. I guess since some disagree on whether or not obesity is a growing problem, particularly in the U.S. on one hand u got good food for cheap and on the other hand u got high fat and bad for ur health food it all depends on how u look at it if u just like the food ur for fast food and if u worrie bout health ur not for it thats y its so contraversal in my eyes... good food vs healthy food The way I see it is,if you are fat and want to loose weight don't go to a fast food place. No one should have to police someone because they like to eat.No controversial to me.Very simple in fact.Too many laws already and too much Big Brother watching. What is the problem!!!Loose weight eat right,be obese your choice and none of my business. Yes it is. Since the cost is marketed to meet our budgets. It also meets the youth of to days budget. Meaning not to many teenagers are going to pass up McDonald's. Not to mention pizza, burritos . It can be a problem in the future if not monitored. Since long term preservatives do effect people. Fresh is best. mmm controversial isnt the right word...cuz fast foods and obesity arent so controversial...personal opinion. |
