Are we more concerned about anorexia than obesity because? |
rich, pretty little white girls get those diseases? Obesity is 100,000 times more serious a health issue in America. I suspect people are so used to seeing obese people in the U.S. that many don't even notice it anymore. Well, all the obese people are accepted in todays society. It's sickening. All to be politically correct. i think they are pretty equal. and both very dangerous. and the only reason i think there is more attention to it (which i dont personally think it is)... is because there are more celebrities with the problem of being too thin than there are being too big.... and we all know how popular they are. Little rich girl, obviously you are one of the anorexic white b*thces. Anorexia is just as severe as obesity. it's easier for americans to become obese, so they don't care. if somebodies anorexic, that's a rare disease and in need of help. I think it's because the anorexia is more painful to see than obesity at times. Both are equally unhealthy, but anorexia seems to eat away at the body faster than obesity does. You could have an obese woman who's at about 250-300 lbs & a 90 lb girl, & the obese woman could actually have less problems at times than the skinnier girl, since she's taking little to no nourishment into her body. Add onto this that many anorexics also tend to purge if they eat anything, & you get more problems tacked on. I think you do have a point there with it being the pretty young white girl disease. Anything that has all three of those elements tends to become the center of the media attention. I think that both need to be dealt with, honestly. It's just trying to deal with both in a manner that won't drive people away that's the problem. money is the answer... most the rich people are what people want to be.. so they focus so hard on celebs.. if you were a poor white girl with anorexia, you would get just as much attention as obese people.. which is little to none. the reason that anorexia gets looked at more then obesity is because obesity has been accepted and put in a statistic.. and with entertainment news and local medias enjoy making a mockery of celebrities the anerexia stays in the lime light |
