What is a good obesity hypothesis?

okay well i have a science fair and im doing it on obesity but like my partner and i dont know what a good hypothesis could be for it??? HELP!!!??? itz worth two test grades! so far we went to Mc Donalds and interviewed people and got a lot of interesting answers so please help itz very important!

Scientific Hypothesis is that if a person's caloric intake is greater than their metabolic demand, obesity is the end result. In other words, if you eat more than you burn off, you gain weight. Source(s): Nursing School...SEVERAL sources. hahaha
If you combine junk food with no exercize then the results will be obesity!!

Hows that?? Remember that a hypothesis has to be a if, then statement!!

Hope this helps!!
Science class!!
or you could say that obesity is caused by a malfunctioning Thyroid, thus not metabolizing food fast enough
Recent studies have shown that people who suffer from obesity are genetically different than those who are of average weight. there is a chemical in the brain that average people have, where it is absent in obese individuals.
This chemical signals the brain that the person has eaten and is full - without it the obese person can eat a full meal and 10 minutes later be searching for food in the refrigerator.
Several brain scans were studied and the findings were very similar, if not exact, to the findings in the brain of an alcoholic or drug addict. Obese people actually suffer from a form of PHYSICAL addiction. Obese people get their "high" literally from food. edorphine levels were monitored and proven to be stimulated and increased with the induction of a favorite food. Asn just as a drug addict or alcoholic, over time MORE food is needed to achieve the same "high".
Yes, diet and exercise IS directly related to whether or not a body is average or obese, but imagine being a alcoholic but you HAVE to have a drink every day, but no more. this is what obese people have to go through every day - they are addicted to FOOD, something they have to eat and come in contact with every day.
These people do not lack willpower - most obese people have been on extremely strict diets for the better part of their lives, only to "fall off the wagon" because their drug is so easily available and they are always using it.
Give 'em a break.
