Would you agree that OBESITY is a product of CAPITALISM?

Think about the US for example....

Absolutely. And it's a good thing.

I'm not saying that it's healthy, or attractive, to be fat.

What I mean is, before Capitalism, no nation could generate such incredibly huge surpluses of wealth that even its poorest citizens would be as rotund as American welfare recipients.

Because of Capitalism, everyone in this country has more than enough to eat. Whether they, or you, should be eating all of it is a lifestyle choice that was unavailable to the average person living under all of the economic systems that came before--or who live under other economic systems, today.
I would agree that obesity is a product of consumption.

And the person in front of me at the grocery store, with the EBT card (food stamps) doesn't look hungry.
Yes-those fatcats use our tax money to buy whatever they want !
It's a product of too many refined carbs, in particular corn syrup and other highly processed corn products.
Capitalism is the only economic answer that produces any positive change. Certainly, some individuals may choose to overindulge in food stuffs, but that is OK. Capitalism helps everyone.
No. It exists in non-captilistic countries where people have money and food (not many).
Fast food cheap and easy high in fat. Nope cant find the connection there.
