Why is Colorado's obesity rate so much below the other states?

http://www.calorielab.com/ What do consumer demographics show that coloradians do or don't eat as much as the rest of the country? or is it health education? I have always lived in colorado but most of my relatives are obese. just me and my girls are not.

Tall mountians, higher elevation, thinner air. A Jokes.
Maybe for the most part, people in Colorado are higher up in socioeconomic status and education, and know more about nutrition, exercise, and have the money to spend on keeping in shape. Maybe they ski a lot.
THEY EAT SNOW 6 MONTHS OUT OF THE YEAR?

GOD BLESS
Do you think it has anything to do with the high altitude? Seriously, cause places that are way south have HUMONGOUS people, like Mississippi, Georgia, FL, Texas, Louisiana...fat bottoms girls and boys rule the earth down there...

I'm just saying...
Colorado is a state that gets pretty much all kinds of weather year round. Combine that with any geographical feature you want, and it's easy to get out and do whatever you like.

Compare it to other states:

Not a lot of people hiking up 14,000' peaks in Nebraska

Not much skiing in Hawaii.

Not much mountain biking in Kansas.

Alaska's not the camping mecca we thought it was.

Louisiana has a suspicious lack of hang gliding clubs.

Bouldering in Rhode Island only happens indoors.

Basically, you can do any sport in Colorado. Most of the natives simply grew up with an active lifestyle, and getting outside to "play" is just what we do.
Native Coloradan, road biker, mountain biker, snowboarder, paintball, camping, four wheeling, peak bagging, hiking, etc.
