How do you complain of obesity to the doctor at the first visit?

I want to know what you tell your Dr.about your problem &what the Dr asks you

Just be honest. Tell the doctor that you are concerned about your weight. He/she will then ask specific questions that you should answer truthfully. Also, expect the doctor to run a battery of blood tests to determine if you have a thyroid function issue.

Doctor may not be willing to prescribe any appetite control meds until the results are back...if even then, since many doctors don't believe in "helping" you lose weight. He also may not give you any specific advice until the results come back.

However, eventually, he may recommend visits to a dietician (to learn how to eat a proper diet) and that you exercise (provided he finds nothing detrimental in your health).

Good luck! Source(s): I'm an R.N.
