What is the Christian position on Obesity in America?

What is the Christian church's position on obesity in America? Is it reciprocity for sin (gluttony/sloth/corrupt commercial conglomerates)? I have an ignorant friend who believes that the AIDS pandemic is direct judgement from God for stereotyped promiscuity in the gay community. Do Christians believe the same for obesity?

Obesity is NOT a judgement of God. It is the direct result of eating too much (...digging your grave with a fork and knife.)
I'm not Christian, but I see America on TV here and all I can say , what could the advantage possibly be, to being so heavy.
wow
Belly up to the all you can eat food bar after church while people starve elsewhere.
They're out front when it comes to obesity.
Saying christians and "the christian church" is EXTREMELY generally seeing as their are many sects. However most believe that if you over indulge in food it is a bad thing and bad for your body. To answer your question most would say gluttony is a sin.
God blessed America by making its inhabitants resemble Behemoths.
Satan's judgment on Christians, Sweet Tea, Krispy Kremes, HoHos,and pizza for being too judgmental on homosexuals.
