Do you the herbal treatment for obesity? The above poster while giving good advice is not entirely correct. I am obese and on a very good natural foods diet for years (primarily fish, whole grains (80%), 50% produce, legumes, seeds, sprouts with little dairy and meats and occasional junk (only rarely) and am still obese as ever. Theories like set point, metabolic disturbances, etc. show that obesity is a lot more complex than just diet and exercise. My MD--extremely into alternative health--has all her patients keep food diaries..I kept one for a month and she said it was the best of all her patients who are very health food conscious..(--she meant best nutrition wise..I have been studying nutrition 27 years and shopping coops/health food stores since then). Long before the yoyo words were coined..I noticed this pattern..lose weight..always gain all the weight back--PLUS more--making me scared to diet at all...even if I ate less calories than someone at my weight would eat to maintain the weight, I gained rather than lost... The only thing that ever worked for me was Dr. Richard Schulze's incurables program were I also went on a 30 day juice fast..I lost 70 lbs and though it was 10 years ago, I have only regained about half of the lost weight. I am planning to go on it again in about a week--currently making all the tinctures and preparations. I believe it was the colon cleanse (#1 and #2)..it pulls (not to be gross but...) years old fecal matter out of the bowels and bowel pockets in rope-like strands that coform to the bumpy shape of the intestines...this material--in some people hard as old rubbr tires blocks many nutrients (so the person is always starving and hungry no matter how much they eat). This procedure allows nutrients to pass through and also help lessen the amount of bacteria and germs that grow there and permeate cell walls and polute and damage all organs via dirty blood setting the stage for most illnesses. Dr. Christopher, who trained Schulze and initially designed the incurables program, said he went from eating 4 or 5 huge meals a day to 2 small ones with no hunger and plenty of pep after bowel cleansing. He said most of his students cut their grocery bills in half. One may need to do several cleanses t0o get it all..cooked food contributes to this. Christopher (John R) also had an antiobesity formula but said it worked best with the mucusless diet (check online for what this is or see his book School of Natural Healing")..he tells of a woman who lost almost 200 lbs and saved her marriage with this regimine. Also try Linda Rector-Page's book "healthy healing" for formula..she recommends using sida cordefolio (along with several other herbs (see her weight loss booklet) to boost thermagenisis and boost brown fat (the good fat burning fat) instead of ephedra (which can be dangerous. Hi I have found theory and practice it to get help detoxify the liver, to help get rid of excess emotional waste. Anything that cannot be metabolised gets stored some where in the body because the body does not know what to do with it. Exersise and a got diet helps to stimulate the Lyphatictic circulation. This goes back to the liver and hopefully the liver flushes it down and out. Herbs Danderlion root liver You can look at stimulating herbs such as Gingseng Ginger lymphatics. Just a few but there are many more. Food. You may think I'm being facetious, but I'm not. Obesity is caused by eating things that are not really food. For example, a twinkee is not food, but it is something that alot of people eat an awful lot of. It makes them fat. Compare that to a steak. A steak is FOOD! You may eat as much of it as you desire and not worry about getting fat. If you want an effective treatment for obesity, remove all processed foods, especially junk food from your diet and replace them with healthy, wholesome food. Say no to sugar, flour, pasta, vegetable oils, white rice, and basically anything that comes in a box, wrapper or plastic. Say yes to fresh meats and fish, whole grains (brown rice etc.), fresh (not canned, not frozen) fruits and vegetables. Drink nothing except water. Absolutely no nutrasweet or MSG allowed (both very obesity promoting for reasons difficult to explain in less than 300 words, many of them big and scientific). |
