Is our food culture part of the obesity problem? |
No matter where you look like on TV is food commercials, eat out or fast dinners in or something, lots of cooking shows, and seems food is to celebrate if you're happy or be consoled if something bad happens and you're sad, everything is a reason to eat. Is our American culture just too food obsessed and everyone is programmed to overeat? Is that just more big business amd advertising for more profits no matter who gets hurt? I think it's part of the problem. The bigger problem is "supersizing"!! You can eat anything in this world and stay fit and not fat.....so long as you eat the right portions!!! No supersized meals. Just learn to stop when you are full. The french are known for their delicasies (sp?) but they are not over weight. hell ya thats the problem america is to fuckig fat its deffinately part of the problem i'd say.. You are what you eat, basically. i would say yes, quick question just checked out your 360, is that you ?,if it is your p.h.a.t., pretty hot and tempting Food is everywhere from the day we are born until the day we die. You can't go anywhere these days that food isn't available, or so it seems, and most of the time, it's full of fat and processed carbs, preservatives, etc... Our culture, both in Canada and America, promotes unhealthy habits. Advertising and big business fall right into line and put unhealthy food at the top of our lists of fave foods. I'd say the responsibility falls on culture and on advertising/big business in equal portions. You are correct in regards to food commercial for the purpose of making profit. American culture has nothing to do with being obese, having sedentary lives and bigger food portions is what causes obesity. . |
