there are some groups that are genetically predisposed to obesity, for example pima indians. this is a holdover trait from the feast or famine cycles of the distant past when they had to hunt for food.
Yes there is also polynesian women seems to be somewhat predisposed to this as well.
It seems I've heard Polynesian women tend to obesity. But I don't know if that is because it was considered a sign of great beauty to be large..
