What are the risks involved in having obesity surgery also what are the advantages?

I am considering having obesity surgery and I could really do with some advice from any body who knows or who may have had obesity surgery themselves? Answers greatly appreciated . Tess

mother had a section removed from upper waist region.Operation had painful side effects re stitches as she had some infection. However she was happy with it . For a few years she managed to keep the weight off. All surgery is dangerous and costly but so is carrying extra weight. It certainly is a quick way of losing and sometimes necessary even after dieting as one can be left with a lot of loose skin which a surgeon can remove and stitch over so go to it and good luck as operations have become a lot better !
The risks are you could die, the advantages are you won't be fat, pretty obvious i'd have thought
what i can say is that the benifits outweighs the risk. We have modern facilities now and lots of specialist to the job.
