Should gps do more to tackle patient's obesity? |
are we a nation of fatties? I think the Obesity problem should start in school. I think we need to teach our children how to eat better and provide them with nutritious meals so that they don't feel like they are missing out on fast food. Then it's the doctor's responsibility to educate their patiens and guide them through a successful diet of healty tasting foods to reduce their BMI (body mass index). I bought Garmin's GPS for my bike and you are right. It is so complicated I'm having a hard time figuring out how to use it. So, I guess in a way my GPS could have done more to help me but in this case it didn't. I'll keep blaming any extra pounds on my GPS, or Garmin. yes, i cant remember the last time my gp checked my weight. we are a nation of fatties cause we are inundated with manufactured crap foods that are high in salt and fat and satisfy our brains. We have all been programmed to enjoy these foods that are unhealthy and harmful when eaten to excess. Proper nutrition should be started in the home with babies. Parents who do not introduce foods high in refined sugar and fat teach healthier lifestyles than parents who are feeding the young fat cells that are in every human. feeding the fat cells make the body fat. Putting the responsibility on Drs when it is the parents responsibility to monitor their childrens eating habits is wrong. Drs can educate the child but the parent who feeds their children. We should all stop passing the buck and take responsibility for our children. This is where obese adults start. |
