Why are so many people so strongly opinionated about obesity? |
I just notice this looking through Yahoo answers that this issue comes up a lot. Why does other people's weight make some people so mad? Why do people feel so strongly about this issue? Yes, there's a cost to society as far as cost of medical care, but many things cost taxpayers MUCH more money. So why does it seem like so many more people are ticked off about how much pizza Joe Schmoe eats as compared to something like, say, the war in Iraq or runaway porkbarrel spending? Anybody with a strong feeling on this issue care to weigh in? Please for the sake of us all have something intelligent to say. It doesn't matter to me what it costs to take care of someone with health issues. What I do care about is the children that can't do anything about what they eat or the medical reasons that they have that cause them to be too over weight. My heart goes out to them. I don't get angry about the tax dollars. I get angry when I think about how short their lives could be. That they may not have a chance to grow old and watch their great-grandchildren play in the yard. And I do understand that certain medical issues case over weight children, but that is not always the case. It is just sad to me. As far as adults with weight problems, they are old enough to take care of their own problems, it is their business, not everyone else. A lot of people are sick of hearing the excuses. There is no excuse. If you're obese, you eat too much. It's not complicated. people are superficial and looking for something to be angry at perfectly normal The only time I am upset is when i see obese children, 12 year olds that weigh more than me. That is what makes me angry. Parents just give in...that needs to stop, also America is the Fattest Nation in the world. And: who is obese is NOT healthy. Period. The people who are so prejudiced against fat people are ignorant. All prejudice is born of ignorance. i don't get mad at the adults that is overweight but the adults who let their children get over weight. it is not cute when a 12 year old girl or boy weighs over 200 lbs. this child is goinh to grow up with mental and physiacl issues. I am obese and I recently estranged myself from my stupid family because they are all stick thin and couldn't accept or understand my weight gain. I think that they are ignorant and stiff and cannot try to understand how hard it is to be so big. I do try but I just can't seem to lose the pounds. I go to the gym, I watch what I eat, however, I don't seem to be able to lose it.. I have a feeling that society's consant bombardment with these skinny freakin women are brainwashing the weak-minded. These people feel that everyone has to look a certain way. Don't these people realize that America is full of fat people. Are they planning on trying to make everyone big feel awful. Well, they better get an army because the big people might start fighting back.. This is Paul Harvey....good day!!! |
