Is our rush lifestyle the reason for some of the obesity? |
people buy just heat meals and they have additives in them. Our obesity is caused by the deterioation of the family and the "family meal"....something most kids have never had. Remember when mom used to make a healthy dinner and everyone used to sit around the table and eat, not the TV? Most moms today work and don't have time to make a nutritious meal...so it's into the oven with the tater-tots and fish sticks. Into the microwave with TV dinners. Mothers are not teaching their children how to eat properly anymore because they usually don't do it themselves. They rely upon schools to teach kids what they should or should not eat, not realizing that the government lunch program is one of the most unhealthy foodservice programs out there. Then, as children grow, they take their unhealthy food habits with them wherever they go. Then, the cycle repeats itself as their children will watch what their parents eat. Not nececarilly some are in depression.... If they were rushing they would be thin Bud light keeps me fat i would say not really. i buy and heat LEAN CUISINE meals. i am not fat at all... i weigh 108 lbs but i chose not to go to mcdonalds five times a week for food. i actually only eat mcdonalds maybe 2 times a year. i try to eat fast food period one time a month. other times i eat fresh fruit and veggies. i only cook about 5 times a YEAR so it's not like i have time to do it and i don't make time to do it. there are plenty of convenient foods to keep yourself skinny. i think people are too lazy to do it. it is much easier to eat whatever you want whenever you want and be fat then to do a little planning ahead (like bringing something healthy to work or on a road trip) plus todays society isn't as much on outdoors and exercise. i don't exercise enough but i'm not obese either. Some people are obese due to genetic predisposition, and it doesn't help if you are predisposed to weight gain by not exercising and not limiting your food intake. Exercising and limiting the amount of food you take are critical in keeping the right weight for yourself. people find comfort in eating. it's called depression. and then you have the ones who are just to dang lazy to get off their buts and cook a home cooked meal. they eat to many sweets and not the right stuff. then you have parents who find ordering out the majority of the time, they are teaching their kids good eating habits. when the kids get to fat the parents say it's mcdonalds fault. go figure. i cook at home every night and give my kids fruits to eat for snacks, sweets are a special treat. |
