There's always plenty of news about bad diets and obesity, if you're on the road all day it's hard to eat well Even working in an office can make it hard to eat well, especially when you end up eating at your desk all the time because you're so busy. There are healthy alternatives though. You can always make your lunch etc and the media are always running stories about how it is important to take time out of your day to relax so lunch time should be one of those times - I know it's a lot easier said than done!!! Shakes and meal replacement drinks are a good way to stay away from the junk too. They're just as easy to get your hands on as chips etc. The media are always keen to jump on a bad story because its good for ratings, how many time shave you heard about the bad diets we all have already this year! There is nothing stopping you from taking healthy snacks on the road with you. For goodness sake, even McDonalds sells fruit and healthy-option meals these days! Here are some ideas you might consider: * Pieces of fresh fruit * Tubs of yoghurt (keep a small chilly bin in the car) * Raw, un-salted nuts * Bottles of water Be sure to get some exercise throughout the day too. Even if you just pull over to the side of the road and do some stretches and a couple of laps around your vehicle. You will feel much better, I promise. Happy eating! I should have thought if you're on the road all day it's hard to eat period. Or do you mean when you stop and get a meal? Cos those sorts of places dont sell anything healthy do they like a chicken salad without the mayo? and you can't get a coffee without a do-nut? And should you try to leave any thing on your plate the locals will haul you *** in jail! Stop making excuses if you are overweight it's not cos you're on the road all day it's cos you're eating the wrong kind of food. Don't have any snacks inside your vehicle, only drink water, eat sensibly when you stop no one ever got fat from eating just meat and vegetables! I found that traveling can be hard but if you can try to stick to a routine, it makes it easier. I try to eat a good breakfast around 7. An orange or apple around 10:00 this helps me get by with a small lunch. Another apple or orange at 2:00 and finish up the day with a big salad with some type of meat like chicken or small piece of beef. |
