Why do you think Mississippi has the highest level of obesity in the United States?

probably of the traditional diet and I guess the hot weather in the summer may keep many to exercise. But that's not to say it has to stay that way always.
because they eat things that make them fat

Never knew that, but if it is true, it is because southerners love to eat, and know how to make any food taste good! Why do you think people come to the south ;) Good food of course!
It's just too damn hot to move!
1) Great Southern style cooking
2) Genetics
3) Those Genetic eating that wonderful food.
It is very hard to wean oneself off those rich high fat foods & way of cooking. Plus the vicious cycle of eating to high calories, not feeling well, so not exercising.
