Should we get rid of all Mcdonalds so we can stop obesity? |
Should we get rid of all Mcdonalds so we can stop obesity? I doubt anyone thinks getting rid of McDonalds would stop obesity. There are thousands of obese people who don't even eat there. Makes no more sense than closing all the Mr. Doughnuts, or Dairy Queens. Education, proper nutrition classes and fast and snack foods in moderation please. It would take more than that. You would have to eliminate all fast food restaurants and make other restaurants responsible enough to have nutrition information available to it's customers. A better idea would be to focus on physical education in schools which hardly exists anymore. Ideally, we should get rid of Mcdonalds because it is junk. period. However, obesity has a lot more to do with overeating in general rather than Mcdonalds. I could eat three unhealthy meals eveyr day at Mcdonalds and maintain or even lose weight. The problem with obesity is the consistant overeating, too big meals too often and always snacking on high calorie, fat foods. A Mcflurry and fries is not a snack. McDonalds is only a minor part of the problem. There are lots of other suppliers of junk food. I think their should be a tax on junk food as it isn't right that junk food is cheaper than fruit and veg. its not just mcdonalds, its also the soda if people drank at least 1 soda per day...obesity wouldnt be that much of a problem good luck with that! I don't think that would stop obesity. I know there have been studies showing that eating frequently at McDonald's adds to obesity but not having McDonald's would not stop it. Personally I deal with my weight all the time. I have a hard time keeping my weight down. I do not eat at McDonald's and never have. |
